'56 F100 Wheel suggestions??
Hey everyone,
I'm looking to get new tires and wheels, w/ hopes of keeping a classic look. I'd like a smaller diameter in the front to drop it 3" or so (nothing too drastic). I purchased the hub caps already and will get the trim soon. Anyone have suggestions for the appropriate tires and accurate wheels?
Also, at some point I'd like to add disc brakes. A few places make some complete kits but are some better than others? Any advice is appreciated!
And just a quick update on the truck: Toyota Power steering installed and working well. New Alternator, heater core, intake & valve gaskets, steering wheel, and fuel line. Considering I didn't know a thing about cars, things are coming together and I'm learning a ton!

Congrats on the progress. A lot depends on your wheel pattern. Are you running stock wheel patterns (5X5.5) or did you change to a 5X4.5 (car pattern)? Here is a handy link Wheel Bolt Pattern Cross Reference Database and Conversion Guide if you are looking for some type of factory wheel to fit. I personally have used mid-80's Ford Van wheels that looked good. You can also check out car-part.com and they will show you a OEM wheel picture if you find a factory wheel size you like and want to see what was available.
If you are switching over to aftermarket wheels your options expand. Just remember offset and hub center sizing when looking for wheels.
As for a smaller wheel in the front I assume you mean a smaller tire versus smaller rim size? I have ran 205s on the front and 235s on the rear to give it a different stance. Good luck.
