Question 1977 Cab Mount Confusion

Ready to replace the floors and one cab mount on 1977 F100. Been to numerous parts online stores and some show them as:

a. one piece unit

b. two piece (but only one part included)

c. two part (according to picture both are included)

They all list as fitting my truck (which has the two piece now, or whats left of it). Would really like to know what the difference is, as I have seen both used in build threads.

Just want to know what I'm dealing with before I place my parts order.

It is 2 separate pieces. Just Had mine done on both sides, I got the parts from LMC, no complaints.
Here are the ones I used.

With all due respect, those floor pans/cab mounts from LMC are crap, spend a little more money, do it once, do it right, this isn't a job you want to have to do again in 4-5yrs.

I definitely need both floor pans, but I have a floor pan and an inner and outer cab mount (as seen in the pictures). Not sure if the one pieces is just both pieces merged or if it is for a different model. I've seen both types installed on the forums.

Better example from another post:

Finally found a picture of one off the vehicle. Looks as if the two pieces come pre-welded. I assume the other style is just a redesigned one piece stamping. But was just hoping someone knew for sure.

Thanks.

Correct! iirc Dennis Carpenter has the 2pc. welded mount, most other vendors have the cheap stamped piece from overseas, but it is ONE piece so i understand your confusion.

Never had any problems with any sheet metal from LMC except the lower door patch panels...They are junk it you try to use it complete but if you cut it off below the body line they fit fine.

99% of patch panels/sheet metal come from the same source they just rebox it.

I tend to agree here, the panels I got were good quality 18 ga stamped steel, no problems at all with them. The steel is thicker than most of the rest of the truck.

montana_highboy no offense taken at all.

I really try and buy american when I can, but the price difference in the cab mounts/floor pans was just too much to justify, I looked at the ones in your link when I was looking to replace my floors. I'm not a 100% sure those floor pans aren't the same as LMC, just painted, they certainly look the same, and the little made in usa sticker on them actually kinda throws me off, thats the exact same spot that the sticker was on my LMC floor pan and almost all the other pictures show parts in raw steel, but those are primered, just seems suspect to me

I think maybe we have all chinced a bit on some things made in china/taiwan/etc, ever used an eletrical connector from walmart/Lowes? maybe a screw/bolt, etc, etc,......I'd say safely that at least 50 % of anything aftermarket any of us have ever used was probably sourced from somewhere other than the U.S., sorry kinda went off topic on this.....

I do too, that's why i recommended "Flashback F100", i have no dog in this fight, i've had experience with both replacement parts and the American made stuff was heavier gauge, guys are free to buy whatever they want, i'm just offering my opinion.
