I'm looking at purchasing another SD for a second plow truck. I've found an '09 F250 XL reg cab 5.4 auto, which will work nicely. Unfortunately the truck did not have the power equipment group, so while it does have the towing mirrors, they aren't heated. This is a deal breaker for me. I really like having them when plowing. Can they be added? I'm thinking on the older trucks the mirror heat came on automatically when you turned the defrost on, but on the '08 and newer it was controlled seperately by a switch in the dash. If that's the case I'm guessing it'd probably be pretty tough to add. Thanks for the input!

 

On <strike> 05-08 </strike> 05-07 trucks the heat was always on with ignition power. They can be added, easily. Pick a power on circuit and wire them in. Or you can put them on a switch.

 

in '08 it was switched on the center of the dash.
