any one ever done this?

Got a 79 f 350 with broken rear springs. I was just gonna get a lift kit with new springs well got on craigslist and found some 99 f 550 rear springs i want to put them on the rear of my truck. I was wondering if any one knows if this will go right in or wat ill hav to modify. Picking up the springs today. Any help would be appreciated.

Not to sure about the lenth butthe center bol is in a different location, if your main ply is good you could use the 99 ones I would think.

Is the main leaf broke? If not you could always just replace the broken leaf, I have had to do this many times. Why are you thinking of running dprings from a 550?

do some measureing first length and width, get an idea what youll need to use em.
stiffer springs wont actually up what you can legally load the truck w/, just score you less squat when loaded and rougher ride when empty...
spring packs can be rebuilt, or new made even requiring no fabricating on your part.
