Crank sensor?

When you say "pickup coil" are you referring to the PIP inside the distributor?

Do you have power going to the coil? Is the distributor turning when the engine cranks.

No power on coil negative would be an open coil, or do you mean no spark by "no power out"?

So you have spark coming out of the coil wire, but not out of the spark plug wires, right? That is either a weak spark that can't overcome the resistance of the ignition system (weak coil) or too much resistance in the rotor, wires, or cap. I've seen bad rotors before and the low end wires that the discount stores sell cause missfires and no starts. If you hold the coil wire close to ground, does it throw a nice blue spark? Slowly moving it away from ground, it should throw it 1/2" or more.

Just saw that... I use their parts a lot until it comes to ignition components. NAPA is worth the extra $$.

You dont have a crank sensor, I guess you mean pip, what ford callls the pickup coil in the dist.... as far as module and other primary ignition, there's no need to check that if your coil is making spark. Sounds like you got a defective cap or rotor. I guess it could be moisture inside the cap also, nothing got rained on did it?
