02-04 Headlights

Just a heads up guys looking for these lights. Dont have any long term info on them yet because they just got here, but so far Im impressed with this ebay company. My trucks a 00 and I wanted more light so after reading on here I decided to go with these and clear corner. My clear corners were a different company so those are not going to be discussed.

This company is Auto and Art on ebay. Heres the listing.

New Pair Set Headlight Headlamp Housing w/Clear Lens SAE DOT Stamped Aftermarket | eBay

Well like my clear corner, and some of the ones Ive seen posted on here, you have to transfere your adjusters and all to the new units. This is what I was expecting to do today. But to my suprise, not only do the new units come complete with all new adjusters, they even come with bulbs. I already bought a set of silverstars, so Ill just compare in a bit what they sent and the silverstars. I was just amazed they were actually complete replacements (all parts needed) since the ad says nothing to make me believe they would come with it all.

Just had to post it up, since im impressed. We will see how well they hold up to moisture and time in the Texas heat.

Ok there bolted up. They are pretty much a direct fit unlike some of the other products that come off of ebay that you have to modify to make work. As for the bulbs they came with, there just normal bulbs nothing special.

Thats all I got on them right now, if they do something really akward over the next few days Ill update what I think of them.

Just installed a pair of Silverstar Ultra's... much better than what was in the truck when I bought it 6 years ago (don't know what they were). Also can;t really speak to the Ultra's being that much better than regular Silverstar's, but I do like what I've got now.

-Lots of guys have reported that the ULTRAS don't last very long......I don't think they are THAT much brighter than the plain SilverStars.

Interesting. I got a real deal on them with a $20 refund which made them much cheaper than the regular Silverstars. If they die, I still have the ones I took out which I will keep in the truck as e-spares.

Yea im going to start looking at differnt bulbs online. Theres just not much selection at the autoparts store. Looking for something as bright as the silverstars if not brighter, that produce white light, or even a little blue tint. Dont want the bulbs that come out blue, but a tint wouldnt be bad. I just dont like the look of yellow in the headlights.

-The SilverStars do produce a nice colored light, not REAL white or Blue, but certainly NOT the yellowish color that "stock" bulbs do.....

I'm thinking that the reason the ULTRAS have a deal going is that Sylvania found that they are not lasting for folks and want to get rid of them...just my opinion though..

UPDATE...

The Ultra's now have 14 months and over 20,000 miles on them and are still putting out good light. No obvious signs of light degradation, but at the same time, it's sort of like the frog in the pot... they may be declining at a slow enough rate to where I can't tell any difference, but I don;t think so.
