2004 Ford F-150 need to mess with column shifter to start
Hello I'm having trouble with my 2004 Ford F-150 5.4 Triton V8 starting, when i try to start it i have to move the shifter all the way down and up multiple times with the key open in order to start the truck. I don't what it is I think it may be the Neutral Safety Switch or Shifter cable.

Bet it's none of the above if the shift lever is "sloppy", the most common situation.
It's probably either loose Torx-headed bolts in the shift cable bracket or worn out shift tube bushings. Those account for over 90% of these symptoms.
Ford hasn't used a neutral safety switch on their automatics for over 25 years, since they went to electrically controlled transmissions. That interlock has been built into the sensor mounted on the transmission that reports the position of the shifter.
