Wiper Arm Removal

A few weeks ago we were heading to a car show in our '55 F100...in a driving rainstorm, of course. Suddenly, my wife said, "there goes your wiper"...the passenger side wiper arm had decided to go its own way. So, when we got home, I ordered 2 new ones from Midfifty (cuz I didn't know if the replacement would match the one still on the truck). Now I've installed the replacement on the passenger side, but can't figure out how to remove the drivers side arm. It looks like it's a simple springloaded catch that hangs up on the wiper post, but I can't figure out how to push it to get the wiper off.

I know this is a very simple one and one that you folks could do with your eyes closed...any advice is welcome.

As soon as I get my passenger side vent window back from the glass shop, I get to reinstall it, the divider bar, and the window regulator. I've done lots of research on the internet and think I can do it.
If there are any lessons learned hints out there, I could use them.

Thanks/Bob

if yours is the same as my 54 ' you have to lift the bottom of the wiper base level to unload the splines that keep it in place ..it only move's a little then pop's off ..good luck..

Thanks much...sounds as simple as it probably is. As it is now getting dangerously close to happy hour, I'll postpone my attempt until tomorrow. I'll let you know....thanks again//bob

Just a note for painters: Please don't paint the wiper attachment ends. It makes the connection too tight and hard to remove. Guess how I know. Jag
