I noticed that the drivers side windshield wiper on my '89 F-150 hits the windshield frame when the wiper is all the way up. It also looks like when it is off, the drivers side rests on the windshield higher than the passenger side.
Is there an adjustment to correct this, or do I need to remove the arm and reposition it somehow?
Remove arm Lift arm there is small clip that slid an lets arm come off. May be on good wiggle alot. And reposition run wipers to check and move again if needed. Good luck
Thanks for the help, I will check for the clip and try repositioning the arm.
The blades are the right size, the blade just moves past the windshield and onto the frame at the side of the window not the top of the window (it travels too far on it's sweep). When I said it hit when the wiper was all the way up, I meant versus the wiper being down by the cowl. Thanks again.
Check to see if the mount is broke. Both my fords have had broken mounts. If it wiggles quite a bit, it might be cracked, its not very much fun to fix. I hate takeing the cowel off.
Adjust the blade about 1 1/2 to 2 inches off the bottom trim.
It should be plenty.
