Rear window wiper proprietary?

Rear window wiper proprietary?
Just bought 08 Escape for a 2nd vehicle. Rear window wiper blade looks somewhat unusually fat. Just wondering if these are replaceable with aftermarkets, or is it a proprietary Ford product; is there a trick to remove it?

About how to remove it, if the 2008 redesign's rear wiper continued on to the 2010 model, here is the 2010 shop manual text on it:
Removal
1. Hold the wiper arm with one hand close to the wiper arm and wiper blade pivot joint and lift the arm to its maximum angle.
2. Hold the primary structure of the wiper blade with the other hand close to the wiper arm and wiper blade pivot joint.
3. Tightly grip and push on the wiper arm and wiper blade joint from beneath, and separate the blade from the arm.
Installation
1. Attach the new wiper blade on the wiper arm and press it into place until a snap is heard.
Step #3 seems vague to me.
Removal
