cold air intake on 2013 Explorer

Hey guys,
I usually hang out on the Super Duty side of the forum since I purchased a new one 2 months ago. Now the wife sold her car and got the V6 limited. I never expected to be a Ford family but we are now. Her car is very nice and rides exceptionally well but for one thing.........gearing seems tall but I'm sure it's for gas mileage. She sold her Benz CLK 550 with a huge 5.5 liter, a huge difference and I loved to floor that thing. So, should I put an air intake will it help the performance to get up and go? BY now you've figured out this is for me right?
Thanks.

Save your money.

The stock air intake is outside the engine compartment, right? You already have a cold air system.

You probably wont feel any gain with an intake, but it will be louder.

The biggest issue I have with these is the fact ford has the tolerance for the stabilitrack so high it limits engine power off the line way to much. That coupled with the built in EPA throttle delay nets you some hesitation. I think the only way around this is with a custom tune and I dont know if you want to go that far.
