vibration at 45-55 mph
Ive searched on here and Im leaning towards carrier bearing, but Im not sure if that would be the cause. Well I had both front hubs go out 2 months or so ago have replaced both of them as well as all the seals and u joints. So the front is completly rebuilt. as well as the ball joints. Now I have a slight vibration in the floor boards and a howl come alive around 45 through 50 mph. The only way I can explain it would be a very fast and fine pitch vibration. But what is throwing me for a loop is if i stay in that range and go through a turn (doesnt matter which way) then the vibration gets worse like goes from fine vibration to a more violent one. Not real bad, but you can def feel it change. Im at the end of the line trying to find the vibration. Oh I would also add I greased both drive shafts slip joints and no drive shaft u joints have any play in them. I can grab the drive shaft at the carrier and move it i would say 1/8 to 1/4 inch up down and I can move it a little left and right.

Did you grease the new u joints?
Could one of the pins have slipped off the sidewall while you were getting it in the yoke and be wedged between the cap and tip of the fitting? Guess how i knew to ask that one..
If it gets worse when turning... i would tend to want to lean toward there being an issue with the new bearings.
I bet it will quit after a couple hundred miles....
Oooo... just had a thought... check your brake caliper bolts... make damn sure they are torqued down... been seeing horror stories lately.
Not sure you would be experiencing the speed dependent squeel if it were a wobbly caliper though. But its something to check just to be safe...
Xtof

No the needle bearings didnt fall, Im sure cause they all compressed enough to get the c clips in. And I did grease them, I did before Installed in back on the truck and then after a couple miles of driving. I am def sure my caliper bolts are torqued cause I broke my torque wrench doing it, had to borrow my friends to finish ha hah. But I know the issue isn't in the front end(atleast i think) because ive been told by alot of people if its in the front end your wheel feel it more in the steering wheel, while if its in the back you will feel it in the floor board

Horror story alert! Don't read on if you have a delicate constitution.
"Stinky" had his hitch plowed into by an Infinity a few weeks back [LINK]. Something didn't feel right about the truck and I noticed the bed didn't line up with the cab any more - so into the shop on the insurance claim. The frame had "diamond" damage - it wasn't bent, just knocked out of alignment. Stinky is back and the first thing I noticed was that the old vibration I had that you describe is now gone. It made me wonder if I had frame-alignment issues since I bought the truck and now it's really the way it belongs. I'm not suggesting that's your issue, but it costs very little to have it checked.

Did it start this immediately after doing the hubs/front end work? You may not always feel the vibration from a front end issue in the steering wheel, you may want to tear back into the front end and make sure the hubs are torqued correctly, before you do though lift each side up and useing a stiff bar and put under each tire and check for play..just some thoughts here..

I actually thought that as well, I have had the front end torn apart and put back together three times. Im just plain lost.
