I think I need to clarify which bolts I'm talking about. They are the ones that secure the fan to the clutch, not the clutch to the engine. There are four smaller bolts attaching fan to clutch while there is one very large nut connecting to the engine.

The four smaller bolts are the ones I'm interested in.

Thanks,
Drake

Those are only 8mm bolts. Don't go all gorilla on them. Ford manual says 18ft/lbs for the pulley bolts. It says nothing for at all for the fan to clutch mount bolts, but they are the same size and grade of bolt, so that should be close to the spec.

Over the past years of working on alot of things, when you take things apart you can tell how tight it was, it gves you a feel when you put it back, i don't use a torque wrench hardly at all, except motor thinggy's,trans mate, torque conveter, pinion nut, etc. JMOP.

It makes sense to me. Also judging by how it felt when I loosened them, that sounds about right.

Thanks,
Drake
