1992 F-700

I need to adjust the clutch on my 92 F-700 5 speed (with the 6.6 if that matters).

Can anyone give me some direction the previous owner said there was some sort of ball or something to turn and I'm just not getting it.

I've adjusted alot of clutches but they've always been linkage adjustments.

Thanks for the Help.

Im pretty sure that would have a linkage to the fork.. My 1990 did. And other than the linkages, theres no adjustment like on a 15" clutch.

1990/97 F600/900: Not a hydraulic clutch, just linkage.

Clutch release rod from pedal to equalizer bar. Threaded clutch adjusment rod from equalizer bar to clutch fork.

The adjustment rod has a threaded ball that fits to the fork, adjusting that ball adjusts the clutch.

The issue i'm working on is there is very little travel once the clutch is released. The previous owner said he had replaced the clutch but never adjusted it. I realize sellers lie but everything else he has told me has been true.

Under the truck I see an adjustment rod connected to the rod coming the the floor. It attaches to the fork via a clevis, there is a clamp that connects around the shaft that drives the throw out bearing. I'll try and post some pictures, but I'm more confused then ever now. I dont see anything that resembles a "ball" or "stud".

Thanks

The clevis type is illustrated for 6.6L & 7.8L diesels.

The clutch adjuster rod with the ball is illustrated for 6.6L gasser.

So I would adjust the rod with the clevis that is connecting to the fork shaft?

If you simply adjust the rod, why does it matter which rod you adjust? There is a vertical rod from the clutch pedal going thru the floor that connects to the pivot point that connects to the rod with the clevis. Doesn't making either rod shorter lower the clutch pedal engagement location?
