Hey Kregger, how cold is your air blowing? I got my system set up, after two a/c shops my AC is still blowing only 77-75 degrees... A little colder going down the road. They replaced the expansion valve. Evacuated the system multiple times and charged it everything time after that. It's getting frustrating and my wallet can't hold much of the abuse anymore! Lol

I'll check tomorrow and post it. Is your 75-77 the vent temperature or ambient temp of the cab?

On mine - the compressor, Condenser, dryer, Expansion Valve and all hoses where new. The only part resused was the Evaporator Core.

Note: I had bought and put a new dryer in when I was assembling the other parts. The shop that did my hose work and chargeup replaced the dryer again noting that Dryers can only be exposed to the open air for less than 1 hour or they will lose their effectiveness. They also said (and I read on this forum) that dryers have to be replaced, they don't clean/evacuate.

My temp is taken from the air vent. And my system is also completely new. Including the evaporator core. That's is why it's so bewildering to me... But yeah if you can let me know. Maybe I'm expecting it to be colder but according to the AC shops it's should be at least 50 degrees...

I tested my Infiniti tonight (to make sure my test equipment had a baseline) and it read 40 degrees. Will post Old Red's numbers tomorrow.

Just tested it - 99 degrees outside (32% humidity), 54 degrees coming out of the center vents.

Not sure what to tell you on where to look next. When I was researching the AC I saw that it was critically important to 1) have the right PAG oil for the compressor and 2) the right amount for the system to operate the most efficiently. My compressor had the PAG100 stamped on its label.

I saw your other post (https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post16443489) related to this. I'm not sure how the shop guy found hot air mixing in with the cold. When you switch to A/C from vent do you hear the door swing under the glove box? (vacuum sound)

... could you bypass the heater core (connect hoses together instead of to the heater core ports) to see if that makes a difference on the AC side. That should rule out your concern about mixed air/wrong hose attachment/insulation.

... another thing - What about your engine fan/fan clutch. Fan needs to have at least 6 blades, clutch for AC models. (it was something the shop asked me and checked on mine)
