I have a newer donar truck (1993) with a serpentine belt setup and a sandren type compressor. The compressor is shot on my 78. If I swap all the accessories from my newer truck to my 78 will the newer compressor work with all of the old a/c stuff on the old truck? IF so how can I make the hoses hook up? I saw a conversion Kit on Ebay where you could change compressor types so I believe this may be possible.

Thanks,

It could work, but you'll have to have new lines made up to mate the compressor to the old system.
That's an awful lot of work to change a compressor. I don't recall for sure but I "think" you would need to swap the timing cover from the newer motor for the accessories to bolt up. If so, there is no fuel pump mount. You could be opening up a big ol' can of worms.
A quality reman York compressor is about $250. A kit to convert to a Sanden compressor is about $350.
