No problem...

Most of my diagrams are small block/drivetrain based...

I think code 33 is insufficient EGR opening detected. Since you hadn't supplied the valve with vacuum, it couldn't open. The sensor on the valve detects how much it opens. It can't detect exhaust actually flowing past the valve.

Peter,

I got home and looked for the 2nd vacuum hose that you referenced. Is this it?

The black one routes across the intake manifold along with two others on the other valve that was beside the EGR transducer to two canisters on the passenger side fender. These canisters are in the bottom of this photo. I am pretty sure that they are not the fuel vapor canisters, those are square and mounted below these.

That's the reservoir. Everything looks hooked up right.

That's good to know. So the code 33 is a leak in one of those vacuum tubes, an issue with the EVP or the EGR valve itself.

The black vacuum tube routed directly to the reservoir and that routed back via two tubes to another valve with a switch that was mounted on the bracket behind the coil where the EGR transducer mounts. Do you know the name of that valve?

I'm tempted to replace them all when I reassemble the engine just to start fresh.

That is the TAB/AIR/Thermactor solenoid. Disregard the diagram. The vacuum originates at the engine, then splits off. One tube goes directly to AIR solenoid, other tube goes to reservoir and then to EGR solenoid. You could start to suspect the EGR solenoid (EVR) if the code persists after all vacuum lines are hooked up.

Thanks again. I think my manuals describe how to test these so I'll walk through those before I replace any. But it helps to know to start with the EVR.

Gentlemen, Sorry do not intend on highjacking this thread. I am having similar issues, with the 460. Can anyone tell me where this charcoal canister goes, the one next to the battery radiator is there, but I can not seem to locate the location on the other one. New here cant seem to attach the photo. The square black plastic box, has one fixed air hose about a foot long 3/8" with factory bend in it, other port has one plastic 90 degree air inlet.

Thank You for any help guys!!
JJ
