Help identify my rear axle

I know by the tag on the front axle I have 3.73 gearing and since I'm a jeep nut I know its a Dana 44. But I need help identifying the rear end on my '00 250. It has 12 bolts so I know its a Dana 50-80. Since I don't know how to post pix I'll just post what's on the rear axle tag. Can anyone tell me if its a LSD or not.

I've found the post about axles decoder for the door sticker but mine is blank showing the axle code. But its also showing the ext paint code as UA, Excursion ebony on my 250!

If it's an 2000 F-250 4x4, the front is a Dana 50.

The rear axle is a Ford/Sterling 10.5

I thought the 10.5 was a 10 bolt rear end.

Does the axle tag state if the rear has a limited slip?

Ok, so I have a Dana 50 front and Ford 10.25 rear.

But does the rear tag axle say if its LSD or open?

I thought I responded to this but I must've missed a button somewhere.

I don't know about the rear axle tag. Look at the certification label on the door and compare it to the tech folder (link at the top of this forum) for the axle code. It will tell you what gears and if you have limited slip.

Also, according to the door sticker, my 40/20/40 front seat is Captains chair seats!

I think it will say LS on the axel tag if it is limited slip. In which case you will need friction modifiers when changing the 75 w 140 gear oil in the rear end. 75 w 90 in the front.

true, but most of the higher end gear lubricants already have the modifier in them.

jack up the back of the truck, put it in neutral, spin one tire, if the other tire spins the same way, it has a LS.

No, you have a Sterling 10.5 differential. The 10.25 was the predecessor to the 10.5 and isn't quite the same.

most parts, however, are indistinguishable, aftermarket axle parts are sold as 10.25/10.5..
