Rear axle woes :(
I have a 1985 F350 Xl with the 460 4v and c6 transmission. I also know I have The Dana 50 TTB front axle. What I want to know is what rear axle do I have and what ratio? It is the factory axle and has the numbers 70-13, yes thats 70-13 not 70-B, cast into the webs. I can't seem to find information on this axle anywhere! I read the door tag on the truck and the axle code reads 73 which due to an axle decoder on this forum means it is a 5.13 ratio, Is this true? I have 38 inch tires and can chirp them hard off the line so the truck seems to not have felt any power loss. However the decoder also says the truck should be a 1991 and open differential however it is not. I am incredibly confused and hope there is a guru out there reading this and has an answer for me. sorry for the long post, Thanks!
