Don't know but I'm due for one at my next service. Lets see what the 'experts' say.

When are we supposed to change transmission fluid?
I looked in the diesel engine manual and it states to refer to the owners manual.
The owners manual reports 30,000 miles except for TorqShift transmission.
Endless loop...

Do you have 100,000 miles towing?

The manual specs are a fluid change at 150,000 miles, regardless of towing.

Unless you have a problem, or for some reason have already removed the factory fill trans fluid why do it?

Once you remove the factory fluid your change interval drops dramatically.

Page 431 of the 2011 Owners guide, 4th printing;
  • Every 150,000 miles, (240,000 km)
  • Change automatic transmission fluid and filter (except 5–speed TorqShift transmission) (filter not required on 6F35, 6F50, DPS6 and AWF-21transmissions); consult dealer for requirements

Mine didn't really get flushed - but the had to drop the pan to do the solenoids at 19K about a year ago... so I guess I am good - only 40k now..

I wanted mine flushed when I had the coolant flushed at around 103,000 I think, don't remember the xact mileage right now.

It didn't really need it but I run her pretty hard so it's just peace of mind.

My factory fluid was slightly off color but not enough to really be concerned.

I was looking into this topic since my truck is nearing the 30k number, and I knew that use to be the magic number for flushing the trans....until now apparently. So the change interval is only 150,000 on this truck, wow. I figured a flush would be required before then, just to remove accumulated wear debris from operation. I guess these new systems experience much less wear these days. I've been running with a FILTERMAG on my trans since early on, which helps collect any debris at the bottom of the pan. I figured did would hurt.
