I have a 79 f100 and the motor is original and also painted the lighter blue. I was under the impression it was supposed to be darker. I also have found while rebuilding it that a few of the parts like the dipstick and back metal cover have a darker color under the lighter color.

I know the motor is original and dont believe it was ever worked on.

what is the correct color??
