EGT Gauge off the charts.

EGT Gauge off the charts.
I have a 2002 F350 with 170,000+ miles on it. It has an edge performance attitude box on it and the egt values go from 200 to 2000 randomly while driving then will randomly decrease back to normal. Need a little help, I have already adjusted the probe to make sure it wasnt just loose.

very nicely put.
most people would say edge products are #$%## crap and S%^& built by A$%#%^&S that are more concerned with making money than making a working product.
first thing i would do is mount a stand alone pyrometer and see what the EGT's are actually doing.

Is it spiking when you are driving at a fixed RPM?
If running in stock mode and you do not see spikes, I would think the gauge function is correct. That may not be the case, but makes for sense. Right now it sounds like your tunes are not playing so well. A more detailed description of what is going on and what you are doing at the time is needed though.

I had a similar problem with my trans temp gauge - Would jump around erraticly when hitting bumps - The problem wound up being the molex plug at the sensor. I cut that out and put on some good crimp connectors on, and hav'nt had a problem since . That was over a year ago. ( I tried 2 new sensors first and did'nt help) Just something easy to check. Could be a loose connection at gauge also.
