Airbag Light On

Airbag Light On
I just bought a 08 f150 4.6L 4x4. It has the airbag light on and the guy told me it was from the seat belt indicator being unhooked underneath the passenger seat. I looked today and there is a connector about 3 inches long that was unconnected and push it back in. Would this be causing it because it is blinking 51 code. Do I just reset the light by disconnecting the battery or could this not be the problem and be something else?

Check your codes document them, and then erase them. Disconect the battery long enough for the system to bleed dead. Reset and see. After you reset you may hear a whine in the dash, that will be the bags recharging. Depending on the code you may need to replace the clockspring if the light reappears.
