Carb Overhaul 239

Hi, everyone.

I got Lizzy to run breifly. So smooth when it did run.
Well I am working on the carb and I tore it down and their is a lot of wear on the pump discharge needle 78-9594.
Does this part come with the rebuild kit?
I have not been able to tell if it does. I have a kit coming from Mac's.

Does anyone know what it does? Is their any place to get this if it is not in the kit?

Can it just be run as is or can you some how repair it?

THanks for the help
Neal

I don't remember it being in the kit, on the other hand I have never seen one that is worn out. It does nothing but move up and down slightly, how is it worn? An old float needle will work, if it's brass.

It doesn't have to be an airtight seal, it just prevents the piston from sucking gas back down from the nozzles when you let up on the gas.

Up above, I meant if you have an old brass float needle, you could use that as a replacement. If your accelerator pump needle has a groove in it, it sounds like someone already made the substitution. Vintage Speed sells the real deal separately: http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....Z5Z5Z50000106a

Well I got Lizzy running.
I just lightly sanded the needle valve and cleaned and put the carb back on.
I also put a fuel filter in line.
I got her to move on her own power.
Great feeling to have a running and moving truck.
On to wiring and brakes.
