re the backup alarm thing - it must be the presence of a 7 pin with brakes ...
hook up my little utility trailer and it screams at me....
(Hmmm, I do have a 7 pin to 4 pin adapter, wonder if that would fool it ?)

this will be interesting. i wonder if it has to do with electric brakes. which means it may not do that with my boat trailer as its hydraulic.

Adapter doesnt trick it. I think it has to sense trailer brakes for it to know you have a real trailer hooked up.

this...
you can manually turn the sensors on or off too. This helps when backing up to the trailer.

well yeah, but the cool find, was that it is automatically off when it detects a trailer is connected (likey due to electric brakes)

While cool...it would be pretty lame for you to have to manually turn it off when you hook up a trailer with brakes.

OMG...that would have drove me INSANE. Literally would have ripped them out of the back bumper humming the theme song for "Dexter". Chevy shut off automatically as well.

i mean, it wasnt a big deal. there was a simple button right on the dash, not menus thru the computer. at least they made it easy with the 6.7s... as soon as you put it in reverse, the option appears on the screen so its still a button press away
