Lets see...I see green trees, a green field, a matching truck and trailer and bikes.
If you slept in the trailer and had fun in the outdoors, I call that camping!
The alternative is being at the office, so.........
Thanks....I'm kidding about the guilty part. I used to camp in a tent, but this is a lot more comfortable. We spend so little time in the camper that it sometimes seems like a waste, but at night or when the weather is bad we really appreciate it!
The color matching is not intentional...but I do like the way it looks!
BTW....12.6 MPG towing this rig....I used to get around 8 with the V10. Ya...I'm paying more for the fuel, but this 6.7 hardly even breathes with my fiver hooked up.
Doesn't everyone buy their stuff to color coordinate?
It may not be roughing it but the idea is relaxation, not see what kind of bad weather we can endure. Been there, done that, nobody is paying me to endure it anymore.
Outside with the family and friends. Inside sleeping in comfort in 100 degrees or 15 degrees. Camping, Glamping what ever you may call it. It is a good thing. Some people just make it look better than others! Can't wait for my glamping trip next month...
Really fine looking setup ziff. I'm so glad to hear that you like your diesel.
I gotta say, wife and I used to tent camp. It's fun, cheap, let's you feel industrious/self sufficient. Gets you away from relying on things, can be healthy for some folks.
But yeah, now we have a big ol fiver too. Nothing like a hot shower, clean sheets, all the food you care to cook, and heat/ac. The wife and kids love it, so do I, we now spend roughly 4-6 weeks in our camper each year.
One of the best things is visiting family. I installed 50amp service in 2of our normal family visits, just park in the driveway or yard, plug in, and we all have our space!
Glamping... no need to be ashamed. You have a couple of choices: 1 - go "camping" in a tent the old fashioned way. You could sleep on the ground and try to arrange your sleeping bag in a place where the rocks won't puncture your spleen, or, 2 - you could come in from a ride, take a quick shower and kick back and watch a re-run of Dirty Harry while enjoying a bag of popcorn and a Haagen Dazs bar.
Are you using a sliding hitch for your camper? I'm just wondering how you make turns with the short bed and it doesn't hit the cab's rear window.
I ask because I too have a CC short bed and my one buddy makes fun of me all the time telling me that unless I have a sliding hitch, I can't tow a gooseneck trailer due to the need to make tight turns.
I have a short bed and go past 90 degrees with our Pinnacle no problem. No slider...I use the B&W companion hitch with their turnoverball system. Love it.
