Is there supposed to be one on my 52 f3 flathead v8?
Everything looks fine,but even with the linkage unhooked,
it wants to run away with its self.the accelorator pump
linkage is attached in the middle hole. Thanks

 

Not too familiar with these carbs but like most other carbs, shouldn't there be a coil-type spring on the throttle shaft itself?

 

There is supposed to be a spring between a hole on the Z-bar bolted to the firewall and the choke cable plate on the back of the carb.
