91-94 Exterior Swap

I hate the look of the 87-91 F150 front end. Would it be at all possible to remove the fenders, grill, hood, everything up front and swap it?

Also how hard would it be able to pull the 351w from the donor and swap it into my truck right now? I currently have the 4.9 but the engine is getting old and weak.

It's your truck, so go for it; but why did you get it if you didn't like the looks of the front end? Don't get me wrong, I too contemplated doing this, but I'm glad I didn't. Our generation of truck is getting harder to come by.

Someone will chime in with the engine swap. I do believe that it is more envolved than a truck that had a 5.0 though.

I got it because it was a $200 dollar truck that was in pretty good shape. I like the front end on some days but others I just want to sell the truck and get a newer truck.

I believe the core support for the 92-97 is different as well.

If you want to go up 1 generation,92-96,everything from windsheild forward is different, fenders, bumper, rad craddle, hood, deadlight and grille assembly, also the filler piece between hood and windsheild. The front bumper mounts are different,92-96 have a bracket welded to the frame, frame from wheels forward is dirrerent, brackets may weld right on.the windsor swap is a lot more complicated, you`ll need complete engine and acc. all wiring, rad and hoses, motor mount brackets, there could possibly be more, I just don`t remember right now, I have done them, best case is a donor truck close by..

Okay well that would end up costing more then it is worth. I will just have to pass on swapping it.

Also for the 5.8 swap. You will need v8 fame mounts, factory wiring harness (if staying EFI) Trans should bolt up, however you will need some stuff to make it work for the 5.8. What trans do you have?

You will also need a v8 radiator, distributor, fan, belt brackets, air intake plumbing, 5.8 intake (upper and lower plenum), v8 throttle body, throttle cable, radiator hoses, that's all I can think of at the moment.
