Been trying to decide on wheels since I got my truck!!!!!

It's very difficult to pick with all the nice wheels out there. I've decided on a 20x9 with 295/60r20 nitto trail grappler. I want the wheels flush with my fender and the tire to stick out 1/4" - 1/8" or so. Backspace at 4.5 and offset -12 right?

I like the fuel throttle's, XD Hoss black & machined, fuel hostage in black or chrome, and fuel octanes In that order. Now I just have to wait for a sweet deal on this setup.

Are you getting rid of your stock one's? Are they 16"?

Bummer for me, my stock 16's haven't failed me after 8 years, but it would be nice to have an extra set of rims, good luck in your conquest!

Thanks man. I just wanted you get an idea of what the Hostage wheels look like on our trucks. In your original post, you said you were looking at a 20x9 with -12 offset and 4.5" BS. I think those are going to stick out past your fenders more than the 1/4 - 1/8 inch you are looking for. Check out the pics below of my truck with different cominations of wheels/tires:

First Picture is a 17x8 (+6 offset) with a 305/70-R17 Goodyear MT/R (stick out just past the stock fender opening)

Next Picture is with 17x9 (-12 offset) with 37x12.5-R17 Goodyear MT/R (flush with fender flare opening)

Next picture is of the same wheels with BFG 37x12.5-R17 (slightly inside the fender flare opening)

And last, another picture of my current 20x10 (-24 offset) with 37x13.50-R20 Toyo Open Country M/T tires. (tires are about an inch past the fender flare opening)

Hope this helps!

Thanks, those were great pics! I thought -12 was the ticket, maybe I want 0mm? I heard on this forum that you need at least 4.5BS to clear the leaf springs, but the 20x9's with 0mm offset are all 5" BS?

I've read through so many threads and changed my mind so many times on wheel size and tire style it's ridiculous!!! I need to go ahead and just pull the trigger, it's just that I'm very picky about how my vehicles look and I'm always seeing superduty's around that have different looks and liking a few different styles( 35's on 20's, 35's on 18's/ 20x10, 20x9; 18x10, 18x9, etc etc etc lol

Hey dscabra, I like how the first pic sits, but those are 17x8's. What would the specs be on a 9" rim that sticks out the same as those?

I just realized that your truck is a 2004 -- forget everything I said. I think you were probably right to begin with, but suggest you get everything measured before you buy. Your local tire/wheel shop should be able to help get the right fitment. Sorry for the confusion.

This might help as well:

I believe you'll be fine with the -12. How wide a tire you thinking? I'd stay at 12.5 at the most to make sure they dont hit the leaves.

My stock offset is different than yours so its hard for me to know for sure. Im on -12 9" wide wheels.
