Hey guys, I posted about this in the wheels forum, but I think it will be better here. I am thinking about getting black powerdercoated steel wheels for my 85 f-150 to put my new 35" bfg's on.Has anybody seen anything like this on this style of truck. How do you think it will look. I have pics of the truck and wheels in my gallery. Thanks
I have seen this 35's on steel nascar style rims. Please don't do this.....
35 bfg tires are like ballons. Put these tire on Outlaw 2 rims no clear coat. These rims are only one quarter more then the steel. All aluminum and shine like crazy. You will not be disapointed. Email I think I have pics of the set up.. No I do. boomer351@unitz.ca
Well I have black modulars, however only the center of the wheels are black, the outside is chromed. I liked this look better than all black. Here are two pictures. They were about 45 a piece, plus teh center caps, and lug nuts, valve stems (nice metal ones) Paid neighborhood of around 230 or so, was a while ago) Got them from tyres1.com. They are good to deal with, took some time for me to get the wheels (not a result of them but of the manufacturer) One of the wheels was out of round, paid for another wheel, they shipped it out and when they got the bad one they refunded what I paid plus shipping. US wheel makes these.
I just added a couple more wheels. They are polished wheels from American Eagle. I had been looking at these ones before, but then I got into the solid black ones. But how would these look?
Both look really good, the black ones aren't bad either, not so sure they'd go well with teh blue in your truck. However either polished one will look good
I asked a friend awhile back how the black ones would look and he said "it makes a statement with fat black wheels and tires" that along with the fact that the black ones are only 40.00 a piece compared to around 100 for the polished ones. I just wasn't sure how either one would actually look on the vehicle. Do you know how durable the polished ones are?
I think about any of them would look good. I found a pic of a flareside with 35 inch bfgs on black steel wheels. It's 13MWZ's truck so I hope he doesn't mind (It's a really nice looking truck). Here it is:
I do like the way those look on that truck, but it is a black truck. I am not sure whether the black wheel on dark blue truck would be the best. Although I have never seen one. I may have to get out the crayons and draw a picture or soemthing.. haha since I took those pictures of my truck I added chrome steps that go all the way along the side of my truck. yeah i know its not a 4 door or anything, but it makes it alot easier to get stuff into the back without going from the tailgate.
I just added a couple of new pics with the steps....
Violjohn, Can you please tell me exactly what wheels thoose are ( searching tyres1.com I cant find them yet... will keep looking though )
What modle number, what size, and what do I need to know when putting on new wheels? (I have a 82 f150, that is 4wd) That price was awesome, because I've been looking at wheels that are cool... and seeing stuff upwards of $150 each hurts...
True, i don't know what you know. I guess it just depends on what look i'm going for, and how much I want to spend. The reason why I started looking into the polished wheels is becasue of the first guy that posted a message, basically begging me not to do the black wheels. I don't know what i'm going to do yet.
Nateid15, what look are you going for and what size tire are you puttin on? There are all kinds of options for you. There are a few pics of different wheels in my gallery. The black one is 39.99 per wheel, and the two polished ones are between 100 and 115 a piece, with caps. At least thats how much the polished ones are in my area at the store. The black one is from jegs
