As long as it was an 8.8 IRS. Pretty sure the IRS guts are just 8.8 rear ends but with half shafts.

I don't know if the axle spline count will match.. the trucks have 31 spline axles while the cars and most small trucks have 28, but I can't say for sure what that IFS diff would have.

^^good point. Spline count?

You would "think" Ford would reuse most of the major components. But you never know.

Not sure that the differential case is the same to allow that?

I know I used to try to swap stuff on 9" and I had to bore the ID to allow the bigger 31 spline axle to fit into a 28 spline carrier. There was a big and small bearing version. Not all that familiar with 8.8 stuff. Maybe it's more universal??

I'll check it over today. The center section was replaced due to a broken bearing cap.

05-10 Mustang 8.8" Rear End used a 31 spline Rear Axle. 01-03-04 Mustang Cobra IRS Rear End used a 31 spline Rear Axle. 1995 to 2000 Exploders and Mountianeers, and some of the Ranger Edges had 8.8 31 spline axles. Those, along with the full size vehicles of course, are most of your options to get a donor center diff. Just make sure that you get one that has the correct type VSS if your vehicle requires one.
