What did you do to get 700 hp?

lets start with that

St Joseph diesel did the pump and injectors. They used the big lines. 120 gph feeder pump. The heads were ported and polished with big valves. 3000rpm cam. Fire ring heads milled the head down .100. The head the cam pump injectors. Are the biggest things with these engines. After all that timing is the key it took 2 years worth of pulling to get the timing set just right.

For the MW pump engines, do you know what size pump elements they came with stock?

Most MW pumps I see are a 10mm.
Hey Olly, a 401 would be the best in a hauler. Best combo; Ford engine in a Ford truck.

Wow, I have to say I'm surprised with the extent of work to get that power.

I was thinking 600 hp or so would be attainable with overtightened head bolts, a little pump work, different injectors, and turbo setup.

The 10mm is on the truck engine. The 1466 Ih tractor had a 13mm and the 1566 had a 15mm. The 13 is good up to 350cc of fuel I believe. The 401 is what I'm leaning towards just because no one has done it. On them 3 tractors they used the stock 3lm charger with Turbonetics wheels in them at about 75lbs of boost. At 600hp the biggest thing to watch is the egts. At 700hp they will hit 1500 so ceramic toped pistons are a must.

Interesting. I have a Mercedes OM617 with an MW pump, it has 6mm elements. There is a lot of debate on rebuilding the pump with larger elements, but lack of availability. 10mm is huge for a 3liter engine, but maybe this gives a source other than Chinese junk for large elements.

I'm still wondering if fire rings are necessary at that power level?

And lines?

Rings yea they were blowing copper head gaskets when they upgrade the turbo. If you got a p pump engine no you don't but with the rotery pump its a 25-50 hp increase with the lines. I think the 13 mm might be to much lol.

Thats kind of discouraging to hear.... I was hoping to get about 500-600 hp with just pump work and turbo, and injectors.

Thank you very much though. I learn more every day.

Haha, yup.

I would hate to have an engine that smoked all the time.
I think it has more to do with the injectors than the pump though.
