Swap?

Anyone done a ZF5 swap in their Bronco?

Planning to put one in my 90 behind my 300 with the M5OD.

Yep. The ZF is a bolt in replacement for the M5. The physical dimensions (overall length, crossmember location, etc. are identical. You can even get by with the same clutch if you want). I upgraded to the 11" clutch when I did mine.

Out of curiosity, is it a wide-ratio or close-ratio unit?

Yeah, its one of those that you really don't need 1st unless you have something serious to move or you are stuck. But its nice that its there. It feels heavier in its shifts than the M5. It feels like a big truck transmission but still smooth. I had some early issues "finding" reverse but I've gotten used to it. I went from the 5-speed in a Saturn Sky as a daily driver to driving the Bronco with a ZF... its different of course.
