Thanks for the good info Jack. I'll do that to the lugnuts when I get the mileage on the new rotors.

Jason,

Wish I had spent time on this site when you did the PS rotors to mention to check them.

BTW, I looked at your tech articles and you've done a great job with them and your other sections as well.

I've played with pictorials before I got too busy in life, and while my facebook ones are mentioned below, you can also check what I've had at my Webshots albums under FMTRVT.

I got pulled into looking at your site due to your handle. During my 30 years of brake testing we used to rent out space at Bill Stroppe's garage for our LA tests. Ford used Stroppe to run the LA tests and prep magazine cars, so many of the foundation and friction brake suppliers also worked out of the Long Beach site. I spent many weeks there at the garage and spoke with Bill Stroppe often. Towards his end I got a signed copy of his book. Bill was a really neat and inventive guy. Up in the attic of the main garage he had one of the first Bronco's ever built. Plus there was tons of stuff in the yard from all the races.

When I was there is the mid/late 80's they were racing Rangers. I ended up getting a 1987 Ranger as we were supplying the friction on those and with all the Baja Ranger building that I was exposed to it was hard not to get caught up. They used to get those little Ranger motors screaming on the water dyno they had.

I know of a couple of vehicle testing personnel in LA that also collected Baja Broncos due to their relationship with Stroppe. One guy that I hired to work in my newly opened Van Nuys facility had an absolutely pristine example that got pancaked during the Northridge quake in '94. He was beside himself about the Bronco, but luckily he and his wife were two stories above the garage area and just rode the building down.

Wow! That must've been really interesting working in that environment. I guess his shop was a flurry of activity for many years. Thanks for sharing

If only I could get time again to finish off my Bronco project. One of these days I'll get back on it......
