HELP transmission problems

Ok guys and gals i posted a few weeks ago about getting my fluid changed or flushed in my 2002 f-150 5.4 with a 4r70w trans. WElllll a few days ago i detailed the truck top to bottom took me about 4 hours and while doing so i was listening to the radio and ran my battery dead. I jumped the truck off and off i went drove it about 55 miles and just all of a sudden the overdrive light starts flashing and starts shifting hard then comes the p0743 tcc electrical problem....

Well i work at oreillys so i have a few hook ups in the biz i purchased a new tcc solenoid an off to the trans shop i went its about 30 miles from my house and on the way there overdrive light stopped flashing and it started shifting normal so i talk to the owner of the shop and he tells me it must have been a fluke from where the battery went dead so all was well untill about 250 miles later done the same thing for about 25 miles and then cleared up for about 15 miles and then done the same thing again so i drove it home and parked it until i can figure out what in the world i need to do..

ive checked all the connectors on the out side of the trans and all is well the truck has 118,000 miles and the trans has never been serviced. Can i get to the tcc solenoid from the bottom side of the pan ? or is the tcc solenoid even the problem ?

so if any of you ford gurus out there have any info or advice i would greatly appreciate it

thanks in advance
smokey

When they serviced the trans did they use the right fluid? I know the Ford dealers here service with BG additive. I went a step further and had a shop service mine with a BG machine that flushes and refills with BG fluid. I never have regretted that choice. My trans has never shifted that good since I bought the truck.

Is all your fuses/relays working correctly?

When you jump started it it may have popped one? like for the tranny convertor lock up.

Is your alternator putting out correct power? How is the battery connections themselves?

Have you had heavy rains lately, near the time frame of the dead battery? or shortly thereafter?

your post is miss leading. You THOUGHT about transmission flush, but never did it right ?
THe facts are
1.- your transmission has 120k miles and never had an oil change.
2. You ran the battery dead and jumped the truck.
3. sometime later, the transmission does not always shift correctly.
You may have an electrical solenoid problem, but you also could have dirt and crud causing the solenoid to stick on occasion. I would not do a flush, i would drain and change the oil, clean the magent, wipe off the pan and valve body, and reinstall new MERCON V fluid. Im not sure you have a converter drain, so you can get 5 quarts out of the pan and change that, and leave the other 8 in the converter. That would be a start since you dont have a "major" problem right now, but you will if you continue.

I'm sorry I didn't specify about the flush and fluid change I was going to get it done but before I had a chance the tcc trouble code popped up I have checked my fuses once I'm going to check them again with a ohm meter just to be sure fuse number 23 is the lock up fuse and there hadn't been any rain or snow for a whole when this happened

Thanks again for all the replies and the help guys just keep it coming lol any ideas or if it's happened to one of you all :-)

Thanks again
Smokey
