I have the OEM trailer mirrors on my 2002 and I am quite happy with them. I tow my 28' travel trailer anywhere from 4,000 to 8,000 miles a year, as a matter of fact I just got back from Florida. Anything beyond these mirrors would be just icing on the cake and probably not really worth the money or bother. They are just as good as most highway bus mirrors I experienced a past life and I think I would only upgrade them if for some reason I had to replace them. Half the battle is taking that extra few seconds to get them adjusted just right.

It seems line everyone would switch to the new style if they had time replace them lol. Ill have to see how they would look that's one main thing I've been considering because I wasn't sure how well they would look on the pre 08 trucks ansmd since I'm gonna put money into my mirrors I might as well save and upgrade.

I believe the '08+ tow mirrors are worth it. When I went from my '03 to '08, it was a world of difference. Especially in the little convex mirrors. In addition, if you can get all the wiring to work, the power telescoping/folding are awesome. I almost always forgot to pull my manual mirrors out on my '03 and had to stop a couple of blocks down the road. Now I no longer have to worry about it. Push a button, and out they go. Awesome!

Thats the main reason i wqould upgrade is for all the power options otherwise i would probably keep my current mirrors. How to they look on 05-07 trucks i thought the boxy style might not look right because the 99-07 trucks have more rounded body lines.

I am not a fan of the square looking 08 mirrors on the older body styles, but that just mu opionion. I know a lot of guys have made the switch.

To the original poster have had both aftermarket and OEM mirrors, I feel it is well worth the money to go OEM. I hope you find a good set.

I personally would agree with FireFighter, although i have not had any experience with the site bpounds listed above so i do not know how good of a quality the parts are from there.

I prefer OEM. I haven't had one OEM mirror shake, not even after the housing was hit and broken. I have had the factory 02 mirrors, 2 sets of 03-07 aftermarket mirrors, and now 08-up OEM. Any little shake is very frustrating to me. JMO.

And yes the 08-up are worth it. I find myself using the convex mirror 95% of the time. It is that big and has an incredible field of view.

I also have had both. Had aftermarket ones for 4 1/2 years and have had oem for about a year now. Go OEM hands down !!!! My aftermarket mirrors always vibrated on the highway and the plastic faded a little quicker then I thought. Also the metal arms started to rust. The oem mirrors are tight and look great, I bought them off a fellow FTE'r off his 06 Superduty. Love them all the way.

These big towing mirrors are the best reason to buy a Super Duty (well, there are others, like 800 ft lbs. of torque).
I had the manual version on my 2008, power on the 2012. Great stuff.

If so i might save up some and get em when I can for a half decent price.
I am laughing, because your post is the exactly my situation, although my heated mirror on the driver side stopped working too, I replaced just the mirror about 5 yrs ago and it hasn't worked for 2. I miss the heat, but can live without it. Until it's absolutely time to replace I'm holding off for now.
