No, intake mods alone do nothing of significance.

What he said, the stock factory intake is already a cold air intake and can flow twice the airflow that the engine can handle, so even a 50% plugged filter can meet your airflow needs at WOT. If your 16 and don't have much money, the best thing you can do is just keep the truck properly tuned to the factory specs, nothing fancy. This gives you the best power and economy.

As a general rule, if you was it cheap and fast, it won't be reliable. If you want it cheap and reliable, it won't be fast, if you want it reliable and fast, it won't be cheap. Your truck is already reliable, and has ok power,to get more without making your truck unreliable, you really have to spend some serious money. Your best option for power is a tuner. It won't work miracles, but it is the best bang for the buck, and it works with other modifications. Tuners are not cheap though, and off the shelf tunes are not optimal, so plan on spending extra on a custom tune.

The only cheep intake mod would be the gotts mod. Search for it on here.
It just takes the little nipple out that goes in the fender and replaces it with a piece of pipe thats a bigger diameter.
And like everyone said, it wont really give you more HP but will help a little in your throttle response.

Not rally. IT's not as good as you have now because it is an open air system and lets the hot engine bay air into your motor!
Any thing with a closed in air filter is better.
Did you find the Gotts mod?
