Gauge Sweep not working.

Can anyone help me out I just noticed that the gauge sweep does not happen when turning on the truck. I looked in the manual to see if there were any settings if I could fiddle with but didn't see anything. Thanks.

That's odd. I'd love to know the outcome.

What year is the truck. Has it always worked and recently stopped?

I do believe the 2012s don't sweep like the 2011s.

I am almost positive the 2012s do not sweep like the 2011s. Don't think anything is wrong.

oh I see. I guess I must have been seeing things. I swear when I picked it up I thought I had seen the gauge sweep. I hadn't taken notice until today that it was not happening. Oh well. I wonder why they removed that feature.

I wonder if this was for a reason such as an easy way for dealership techs to quickly differentiate between 2011 and 2012 model years?

On the other hand, these are moving parts and the gauge sweep is kind of pointless.
One less thing to wear out now.

2012s don't. I found that a bit strange with my 2012 rental truck - it just 'fades up'.
Here's the rental that I had:
2012 F-350 6.2L Startup - YouTube

I always said the gauge sweep reminds everyone too much of an International medium duty that Ford is trying to get everyone to forget about.

I also don't believe the oil pressure gauge (where the Turbo gauge should be on the top left) - how can it be INSTANTLY up to operating pressure just right after startup?

I would rather mine not sweep. Not sure of the point and its bound to wear stuff out. Either way, my Acura used to be that way (fade up) and it is perfectly fine.

the OEM gauges are dumbed down a lot. They are built with a huge ratio of needle movement to condition. The water temp will change 15 degrees and the needle may only move a micron. It's silly. So the oil pressure probably moves one 16th of an inch for a 10 psi change, maybe.
