Thoughts/Experiences with 00-03 Ford F-150 Harley Davidson Edition Super Crew?
I recently joined up this forum in hopes to get some feedback from experienced users. My name is Jarvis and I am located in DC. I will be graudating this May, which is why I am looking for a truck right now. I am a sport bike lover, and especially a Ford guy! I got a 1988 Ford Mustang GT with some mods and I used to own a 04 Explorer Limited and 95 Explorer XLT. My dad worked at ford for 30 years. Dad got an 04 F-150 and my older brother got an 02. Enough rambling. Down to the point:
Anyone around here got any experience with Harley Davidson edition F-150 from 2000 to 2003? If so then mind sharing your experiences with this truck?
I am shopping around for this particular truck. I was looking at a few lightnings. I like the power, but I want more space than just a regular cab so this is where HD edition f150 came into picture. They got same Eaton supercharged engines. Before you ask why I want 00-03 specifically- I want those years because I really like the body style and they are affordable to me- newer ones are pretty sweet but I find them rather too big and they are way too expensive. My dad got a 04 Extended Cab XLT so I know what is it like.
Basically I am asking for any input on this truck. I am looking at few trucks right now around here and my parents home in Detroit, MI. Most are at around 15k-18k price tag, some are over but I think I can negotiate. I m looking for best condition possible for 15-16k or under. I found some nice ones but they got like 90k miles, should I stay away?
Sorry about a long post, but any input would be appreciated, thanks!

I looked at a 2000 Red Lightning yesterday. It had few scratches here and there but overall it was really nice. 2" cowl hood and powder coated black rims. 75k miles. Engine service light on and check brake light on. Guy was asking for $11,600 or best offer.
Sure is hard to say "I'll pass it up for something else" when I saw the truck in person but I told myself I seriously would like 4 door better because that was whole purpose of me getting a truck: be able to tow anything, haul my bike to track days, bring as many as 4 people, and still have the power.

I have a 2001 SCREW and love it. Bought it 6 years ago with 120k miles on it. Looked like new. Now has 225,000 miles and still runs great. Takes some work after 100 - 150k to replace alternator, coils, blet, plugs, minor problems, etc.. I blew an intake manifold rubber o-ring on the water jacket that caused some overheat problems that i had to work thru, but all in all, great truck. -- no turbo - no HD - no King Ranch-- just XLT.
