So what did you do to your 6.0L today?
havent done much to mine lately besides run it to work and back
my friend bought an 05 reg cab XLT 6.0 with 215k for 5 grand, and weve been doing a few things to it. put on fisher plow wiring (had fisher push plates already), backup camera, blue spring, new thermostat, new degas bottle cap...just picked up an EGR delete for it, and hes gonna get some riffraff hot side intercooler boots before we do that.
I want to put an SCT fitting in it, but im not sure how involved that is. I did the HPOP on my 2003 and it wasnt that bad, but how is it doing that fitting? I figure with the turbo and pedestal out for the EGR delete...basically gonna be almost there

If you go to do it let me know and I can post the PDF for you.
ACF6, With 215,000+ miles it may have already been done.
But if you're curious, once the turbo is out of the way (clean that unison ring whole you're there) AND since you're doing an EGR cooler delete, it's a breeze popping the cover and checking once you remove the IPR (get the IPR screen kit too). I forget but I think there's a kit that comes with a turbo install kit and IPR screen kit in one bag. Anthony would know for sure.

I think you're thinking of the STC fitting kit. FORD OEM 6.0L V8 Snap to Connect Kit 4C3Z-9B246-F
You got it! That's the kit.
Got my leaking Ypipe changed out this weekend. Both flex joints were pretty floppy on the old original pipe. It sounded like a boiling kettle or a strange squeal when I hit around 20lbs boost. Was getting pretty annoying. On the plus side I can have the turbo out in under 1/2 hour now. Lol. I went with the cheap Dorman ypipe kit. It actually fit real nice and had more heat shields on it than the Ford one. Seems decent quality. I also changed the oil, fuel filters and flushed my power steering fluid with synthetic ATF and added a inline filter. Nice to have these jobs done. Ready to put some miles on now.
Changed the oil today. I am going to give Delo a try Vs the T6 I have been running.
I had some T6 left over so I put that in to top things off and one I happened
to notice was that the T6 seemed to pour slower than the Delo of the same
grade. Both have been sitting on the garage floor for a few weeks so the temps
were stabilized. Therefore we can't say the Delo was warmer.
Anyway I have been slowly cleaning the mess from the garage over the last few days.
All that bending over and picking things up sure sets my back off into flow blown pain
like a hamster in there chewing on things. I guess that is better than the squirrels
chewing on the knees. It just feels like something is in there chewing. Oh what a
picture I paint.

Made a template for my backup LED lamps I want to cut into the rear bumper.
It's just not been dry enough to do any cutting on the truck. I think they really
call it procrastination.
Once I am done with it I should be able to see at night really well backing up.
I have 2 of the quad LED fixtures that I am putting in. I even got a "Y" cable
for the 7-way hitch plug that plugs in the back side so I don't have to cut and splice.
The other day I switched from Rotella T6 to Delo. The truck was really unhappy the
first cold start the next day. It grumbled for a few miles before smoothing out.
I will have to see what it does the next really cold night.
The truck got a bath last Friday because I happened to be near the only car wash that
it fits into well. Seems almost like everyone around here have tone to that kiosk type
pay stations at the larger car washes and I have a hard time reaching down to little car
window highs or they have a very tight turn to get into the tunnel.
The one car wash I really like is down in Fullerton CA. Good price and setup as a tunnel
but with a lot of hand washing. When it rolls out they dry the glass and air blow all badges
so they don't drip and leave water marks or dust tracks.
The place is called
Harbor Hand Car Wash
Address: 800 N Harbor Blvd
Fullerton, CA 92832
Phone: (714) 738-7813
No tight turns and nice price for what they do.
