What front axle do I have?

Trying to figure out what front axle I have. I have an early production 76 f-250. Vin # F26YRA03333. Axle code 24J. Tag on front diff. reads D6 TA ACC. 4:09 gear ratio. Tag on door jamb says it is 3550 GAVW. What I can find in my books says it is a Dana 60F. Stamped on outside of pig housing is a 44 then 60F. I think it is a Danna 44. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Not a numbers guy or anything, but my guess is it's a Dana 44HD, Dana 60 fronts only came in F-350 4x4's I believe, but I'm not an expert...lol

Take a closer look and you'll see the 60F is actually 6CF, it's a big hub D44HD often mistaken for a D60.

Thanks for the responses guys. I figured it was a d44, just wasn't sure if it was a HD44. Hey Montana, will those D44 parts you posted from e-bay work on this axle. Thanks

Thanks for the info Montana. Bought my 76 highboy from your great state about 1 year ago. Will have to start a build thread on it soon. Just finished insulating and putting in a wood stove for heat so I can work on it in the cold weather.
