Bent Wheels

2004 F250 super-duty chrome steel wheels, have two bent enough they won't balance, no visible damage I think it happened pulling a heavy load on my old goose-neck trailer when i got the truck and trailer in a bind, any place that can true them back up or just bite the bullet and replace?

I would do the same and see if I can find another set or replace with aftermarket. There are some very reasonably/nice priced wheels out there. I've hit some very nasty things out there on my truck as well and never bent anything(yet).

that’s just my best guess as how it happened, because like I stated there is no visible damage on the wheels anywhere, and a few times I have had too much tongue weight on a gooseneck trailer and put it in some tight places.
yes i do like the look of the stock wheels, the ones i have seen on ebay are either scratched up or pricey........thanks guy may just have to keep checking salvage yards, or keep them on the back where it's not so bad

Keep an eye out on Craigslist. I picked up a set of the wheels you are talking about for $60.

The chrome clad wheels are called xlt wheels, since they came standard on the xlts . Considering how beefy and heavy they are, I would think that you hit something with them. Those are some really tough wheels, I would think way stronger than any oem aluminum rim.

My wife bent two wheels on her car hitting pot holes; I took them to Discount tire and they had them sent out and straightened for $150 each. That was much better than the $800 a new wheel would have cost from the manufacturer.

not to start a argument here, but please read my post, would you say if I hit something hard enough to bend a wheel there would be some type of visible damage? and damage to tire? there is none thats why i think and like i said not sure it was weight and sideways stress on the wheel, i guess a better choice of words would be warped
