i put a add-on buss 6 circuit fuse box next to the original and it really makes it nice to find power without any splicing of the old brittle wiring or having to hunt for a good power source. They are really cheap and give you spade type terminals to easily and neatly add any more circuits. With all the electronics i like to add on, the 70's technology makes it difficult to do correctly and neatly.
I did have to splice into the ignition switch wiring to obtain 'key-on power', which when i did i added an extra 'pigtail' with a butt connector on the end to terminate it and a quick place to add anything else later. The way like to do it is snip the wire and use a butt connector to put it back together while adding in another wire and add some heat shrink too.

77 F150 Stereo Installation
I saw this older thread on here, so I figured I would go ahead and post the system I installed in my 77 F150. I have had this system in there for several years, so now it's considered old school stereo equipment, when they made the good stuff. I have a Sony XES system, with two Alpine 3545 amps, two Alpine 3554 amps, two Alpine 3520 amps, two Kicker 18", four Kicker 6.5", four Altec Lansing 4", two Alpine 5.25" and two Alpine tweeters.

I put the 18" subs in the bed, which I had to cut the cab and bed. Four of the amps are behind the seat, the other two amps are flushed in the floor under the seat. There are two 4" and two 6.5" in each door and the tweeters are in the AC vent locations. I attached a picture of the door set up and you can also see the tweeter location, with the modified AC vent.

Alright, I think you need to do a post on your build, or link one if you have one already. I am seeing some amazing things here, like these door panels.

Don't have any pics of my set up since it's out of the truck right now, but I always try to go with old school amps. I just put an old PPI power class amp in my daughters 2013 Chevy Spark on a new Kicker 10 and it's awesome. I can't stand the new amps saying they put out unrealistic 4000 watts for $100 , it seems like even a lot of the well known brands have started stretching the peak output instead of just stating the RMS power. I remember when amps were under rated and everyone was bumping like crazy with a Punch 45 and two Kicker 15's.
Speaking of Kickers I love those old Kicker 18's, they haven't looked like that in almost 20 years! Love the blow through too!

I am new to the site, so I do not have a Build Thread for my truck. I am not certain if I have enough posts to start a thread. Like most people on here, I am always doing something to my truck. I am currently changing out the four deep cycle batteries in the back, to two large AGM batteries. I need to buy some more 1/0 copper and connectors to finish it up. Attached are a couple of pics of the 4 battery set up and the new two battery setup. The 1/0 cables on the blue batteries are temporary, I just hooked it up with the old cables to see how they were going to work. When I get around to ordering the new 1/0 and connectors, I will get it looking good. When I get back on the battery install and also I will be changing out all of the RCA cables, I will try and start a thread with some in progress pictures.
