Dick Cepek FC-II

Dick Cepek FC-II
I've been researching tires and don't see much here about the Fun Country tires. I am currently running 33" Interco Truxus tires and I am starting to get sick of the noise. I'm looking at Fun Countries because I had them years ago and liked them. Anyone have an opinion on them? I still want something a little aggressive but maybe a little quieter than my Swampers. How is the noise of your tires?

What size wheels do you have? Other than 265/75/16 and 265/70/17, it looks like they don't come in load range E for anything smaller than an 18" wheel.
I've never personally used Dick Cepek tires, but it seems they have a quality product. People always seem to give them good reviews. A little on the expensive side though.

I have had mine for 3 years now and really like them. They are wearing very good and still have pleanty of tread left. I was surprised how quiet they were when new, but now that they are getting worn more they are getting louder. I talked to a tire tech and he said as they wear the tread traps air more and makes more sound(or something like that). Anyways I really like them.
And for $500 I paid for them new for all 4 it was really worth it.

They do seem to hold on to stones some but I wouln't say it throws a lot, no more then anything else I've seen. I do have mud flaps front and back. When I look at my tires their is a few small ones stuck. I currently have around 20,000 miles on them now, and they just started to get noisy this last summer, so I say they were quiet for 18,000 miles.
Now I don't know if my tires are loud from wear or last summer when I started hearing the noise I thought I had a bearing going out, I took it into the dealer and they found my ball joints were siezed, So I had new ball joints, seals, needle bearing serviced, pretty much the whole front end serviced. When I went back to pick up my truck and the drive home I still had the same noise. I went back and a tech went for a ride with me and said the noise was from my tires. my two front tires wore every other lug unevenly slightly i think from the bad ball joints. My sound changed on diffrent road conditions and speeds.

I really liked the tread design of the 285/75R16s I had. They had great traction in any terrain I had them in from rain to snow to mud and were not that noisy. They didn't hold stones bad either. Would have liked a bead guard on them though. I would probably still have them if the sidewall (butress area) didn't start cracking on all 4 tires within 6 months. Dick Cepek wouldn't honor the warrenty on the tires so the dealer gave me a prorated money towards other tires.(so the dealer said)
I now have the Cooper S/Ts in the same size. They don't have as good of traction, are more squirmy and are louder than the FC-IIs. The sidewalls have cracks on them too at the same area.(had two replaced under warrenty) Cooper makes both tires and apparently put out a batch of junk rubber. Never had such issues with tires of other makes before.
I would like the FC-IIs again but the company doesn't stand behind their product and it seems Cooper has runs of pretty shotty tires from time to time. (Cooper makes the DC tires) So needless to say I'm going to another tire company. I can handle some cracking in the tread but not a critical area of the sidewall.
