Then examine the spring hangers on the frame. I had to drill out the 2.5" 4x2 hangers and install my 3.0" ones. That "could" be the difference in the frame part numbers since the brackets probably come on a frame even though they aren't shown in the above illustration. Ford will make two identical parts except one may have an extra hole or something and there will be two part numbers. Check closely and if it's just spring brackets then you're good to go.
Thanks I will check it next time I get a chance. I was told to keep the 250 leafs if I could. I was also told there used as a mod to lift the truck some. I'm not sure if that's true or not.
If your current truck has the 3" wide springs then then I would keep the f250 springs for it.
I swapped out my 4leaf 3"wide springs for a set of 5leaf 3" wide springs and it picked the back up bout 3/4" but it doesn't squat near as much anymore with the trailer behind it
If yours is the 2.5" springs and you decide to go with the 3" f250 springs then you will need the plate that sits ontop of the leafs that the ubolts go through yours won't be wide enough
Been a while since I been on here. I never ended up getting the frame. Turned out to be rusted out at the rear spring hangers. I had an idea to just replace the passenger side frame rail. Anyone know if this would be feasible with grade 8 fasteners in place of all the rivits? Try not to be too harsh on me for asking this!
No it's not hard to find one, its just the resources I have to strip one plus cash right now. The only thing bent on the drivers side that I can see is the front frame horn. I would much rather replace the whole frame, but if I could get away with one side for now that would be awesome.
If your frame is "Z"ed then every cross member will be tweaked, and will cause you a LOT of extra work to ever get it square again.... The complete frame is the solution unless you have a buddy with a body shop with a frame machine that can pull it back square before you remove the right frame rail...
Many times a frame will be bent and you cant "see" it. It would need to go on a frame machine and get measured out to see how bad it is. Looking at it is NOT sufficient enough
