Shorty Header Question

So my truck is an 89 F250 4x4 351w.
I got a set of stainless steel BBK shorty headers from my uncle, but they came off an 89 Mustang GT with a 302 in it.
My question here, will these headers mate up to my motor, at a glance it appears to be aiming toward the cab too far to mate up to any kind of exhaust. I also can't tell if they will clear the frame rails.
Thank you in advance for any input.

They will bolt right up to the engine, but will NOT work at all with the 351W exhaust. I tried doing this exact thing on my 89 351 with a set of 302 headers. Everythings off, you would need a custom y pipe made, and even then 302 headers generally use smaller pipes and flanges than 351 headers. I wouldnt even bother w/ it.

I've heard they won't work. I've questioned this myself and was told by friend that they are aimed outward too much and will run into the frame(passenger side is worse I think).

Dumb thing, Summit Racing sells Motorsport stainless mustang headers for $150. Any of the truck headers are $400+. Go figure.

Alright, thank you guys. I didn't think theyd work, but I should be able to get 100 bucks for them easily. I've got brand new gaskets with em. Ill put that money towards a different set of headers that belong on the truck. Any recommendations on a cheaper set of headers? Preferably long tube.

As far as long tubes go, i am very happy with Hooker regular Competition headers. I have those on my 89.

But if youd like to stick with shortys, I would recommend the "summit" brand shorty headers. Open the summit box, and sitting inside is a Pacesetter box, with Pacesetter headers, lol. Those are what are on my 95's 351

Lol kinda hard to tell. The truck came with a 302, and I swapped over to a 351. Put the shortys on when i did the swap. Ive also got a full aftermarket exhaust, 3" Off road y pipe, no cat, Cherry bomb pro muffler, 2.5" duals out back

Blue Rebel - Yeah I guess that makes it hard to tell, but thank you anyway. I plan to put duals on it out before the rear tires. How do you like the cherry bomb pro? I was looking at the cherry bomb extremes, and another actual header muffler, but I can't remember the name of it now.

Encho - I found some summit full length ones but they are $129 now!

I am very happy w the pro muffler, very quiet in the cab, but great sound at idle and when stompin on it.

I also have true duals and 2 cherry bomb extremes on my 89, and i absolutely LOVE the way it sounds. Take it up to about 4k, drop the clutch and shift, I LOVE the way these mufflers sound shifting through the gears. Only downfall is theyre a little loud for a DD, might **** off the cops driving through town

The cops in this town aren't strict on exhaust noise. There has to be at least 20 trucks that drive around with straight piped exhaust. And the only person that I know that got pulled over for loud exhaust, they let go because he did have a muffler. I think he had an old glasspack that wasn't making a difference anymore though.
I have a flowmaster 50 series on it right now. It sounds like a 302 mustang as it is. I want something that has a little more crack to it. So i might go the Extreme route here.
This is a link to the set I found, I guess it doesn't say it will specifically work on a truck, maybe you guys will know.

I'm about an hour and a half away from Madison so it wouldn't make any sense to ship them. What are the specifics on the headers? Short tube, long tube, what material are they?

They are long tube, plain steel. Nothing special, they were on the engine I got for my 351 swap, and I wanted shorties. I got the engine from my buddy, I know when he bought them and put them on.

Oh alright. I'm sure we could come to a deal on it. I live in Princeton, if you know where that is.
