disconnect or bypass fuel level sending unit

2005 F350 6.0 superduty lariat

Is there a way to eliminate or bypass, or disable the fuel level sending unit and still operate the truck?

I have a no start that I believe to be caused by a bad fuel level sending unit
Or is the ficm in any way tied to the fuel level sending unit?

Thanks

I would be looking at the ficm, batteries or fuel pressure. Too my knowledge the fuel sending unit is strictly a warning device. Someone correct me if wrong. With it being an 05, it could also be a hpop problem such as an stc fitting. You need to do some homework or you'll be throwing a lot of money at it. Checking for codes would be a good place to start.

I've got a bad fuel sender, and it goes dead just about on every tank, right around the middle of the gauge. The PCM sets a couple of codes when it happens, but the truck starts and runs perfectly. So your problem is elsewhere.

There is a good no-start thread in the tech folder. Should keep you busy for a while. Good luck.
