Installing coolent filter

Well this morning since my truck was cold and had a few days off work I took my dieselsite coolent filter and set it up and tightened all the brass bolts for install. Well I went ahead and drained some of the coolent and left the degass top off (just to be safe), then worked the hose for the outlet line got everything connected. Then worked on the inlet side, well when I started cutting I forgot to get my clamps so I wouldn't loose coolent, so I lost a little coolent.

Once everything was connected and filter connected, started truck and it ran fine, opened the ball valves, checked for leaks and everything was running fine.

Well connected my AE up while I was running around the block, and everything looked good. I turned the floor heater on and it felt cool, so I tried the vent heat and it was cool, and the selector was on heat. Well after the truck warmed up I parked in a lot, turned the truck off and slowly opened the degass lid slowly and it hissed like a warmed truck usually does. Well tried the heat a few more times and still no heat. I went to another lot and checked everything, I took the hose off the heater valve and turned the key to on, I heard the pump running like normal I took my finger on the hose and it had good suction.

At that point everything still looked good but no heat in the cab, I put the hose back on the valve and still wasn't heating up, finally I looked at the valve and one of the wiring in that area was at the back of the valve, once I moved the wiring I saw the valve move to let flow to the heater core. I turned the valves off in the cab and saw the valve close, then i turned the switch again and I saw the valve open up.

At first I thought there wasn't flow cause of the coolent filter, but luckily it was something simple and watching my deltas I'm still around a 15*, but now everything is working like it should I'll be able to check everything on operating settings.

So a wiring loom had physically blocked the valve from actuating?

Glad it works for you though

Yes the wiring loom by the valve some how went behind the valve and stoped it from opening up to flow to the heater core.

At first I thought it was something I did wrong until I got to a lot and reviewed some of the trouble shooting on this site and tested the 4x4 and it worked then checked the hose for the valve and it was working, then looking around found the wiring by the valve and when I moved it and everything worked perfect.

Now to keep a eye on the level and check everything for the next few days and hopefully see better results than what I have been seeing, this is all working up to replaacing the oil cooler and EGR cooler.
