5r110w trans issue

hellp, i have a 2006 6.0 auto

i notices that when i put the truck into reverse is bobbles( almost like a slip but shakes) a little when i touch the gas at first.. also noticed that 4th gear is also acting like it is slipping.
seems almost as if their is not enough pressure in 4th when it tries to shift because i can hardly hit the gas & it still slips a little. & when i go uphill it will slip then bang into gear real hard witch to me says the clutches still have good bite.
i did have a bully dog on the truck but cant see why that would hurt 4th its a high gear that doesn't get a lot of abuse like the lowers.

also is their something that reverse & 4th share as far as shifting because it seems odd that they both are having a issue..

any help would be appreciated.

Why wouldn't 4th gear get the same abuse? Doesn't the engine make torque when it's in 4th gear?

They both use the direct clutch. If the direct clutch has been damaged, like by running a tuner, it can affect reverse and fourth gears.

Excellent information Mark! I really wish folks would realize what kind of damage these off the shelf tuner cause.

Listen to Mark and do some homework. The Bulley Dog along with a few other tuners are notorios torqueshift killers.

When a guy with a cutaway transmission for an avatar answers your thread, you know you have a good answer to your transmission question.

Twenty years figuring out how to make them work speaks volumes as well

That's not just a generic transmission, it's a TorqShift cutaway.

Also 4th gear in these trucks is not used very much at all

For 4th gear to really engage its got to be Way Cold or sometimes when your rolling 40-50 mph and romp on it it may use 4th gear but not often at all

Odds are its 3rd or 5th gear thats jacked up but 4th is NOT used Alot at all

You have the classic symtom of a Bulley Dog Tunner that has TRASHED the transmission

I have a Buddy that had the same thing happen same Tunner same truck same trans same issues

Hows the fluid???????
