i switched out my bumper and corner lights for my smoked ones today and when i hooked the battery back up and everything and tried to start it all i got was a rapid clicking sound coming from either the starter solenoid or the starter, i dont know which. any idea what that would be? i mean it sounds like a machine gun when you turn the key it clicks so fast. all my lights work and everything it just wont start. the motor wont even turn over. alternator possibly? the starters new, the battery is good, the solenoid has been replaced in the past year so its fairly new.

 

Commonly happens when you have a bad terminal connection. Thoroughly inspect them and even clean them and see if that don't do the trick. Keep posted

 

i just had that same problem. i thought it was the battery so i replaced it. still same problem. i tried jumping it off with the new battery and my dodge intrepid... same problem. i cleaned the connections, terminals, and where the wires meet the terminal ends and she fired right up. great advice thanks a bunch. yall saved me a good chunk of change and a lot of headaches.
